Example of Viral Auction?

Check out this auction:?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8279289006

Pay attention to the image in the mirror at the very end of the video.?

I’m betting the seller did this on purpose to create a viral effect (ie: get people to link to his auction like I’m doing here)? ?

At the time of this post there were 1271 views to the auction with 8 days left.? Will be interesting to see where it ends up.?

Up to 1,998 views now…that’s pretty interesting. I didn’t even know you could have video in an auction. I’ve heard audio which just pisses me off when it automatically plays. Anyway, I wonder how high this auction will get. How much is that dress actually worth?

  2. Bryan says:

Gross the dude went commando! Who would want a dress with the dude’s thingy all touching it. Yuk!

  3. mamaclaw says:

Absolutely hilarious! Even after the auction. A little humor go’s a long way

  4. alytheia says:

I agree with Bryan… didn’t think of that at first, but he’s right! ICK! I ‘d have to pay for dry-cleaning before I could bear to even try it on! (from a female)

  5. Glen & Fran says:

Well, we talked about it and we agree that, that one should of stayed out of site.I think he was having to much fun! I totally agree to have it dry-cleaned.

I think all of the comments above missed the point! Drycleaning the dress or how much it’s really worth is only secondary. I visited this auction today and the hit counter was at 10,077. How much would you pay to get
10 thousand hits on your auction? What if it were a buy it now auction selling 997 ebooks instant delivery (auto-pilot) at $10 a piece? Even if only 10 percent of the 10 thousand people viewing the auction bought the ebook, you would sell out and put a cool $9970 in your pocket. I now know exactly what my next eBay listing will be- VIDEO!
